Independent school admissions testing consists of the administration of a measure of cognitive ability/IQ. Tests administered depend on the student’s age and testing history but typically consist of a Wechsler test such as the WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, or WAIS-IV. A verbal explanation of the results is provided directly following the testing and a written report is mailed the following week. IQ testing is also available for non-admissions purposes, such as identifying students with gifted abilities.
